MUSEUM MILE: THE MET

New York City is one of the greatest cities in the world. There is so much to do and see, and luckily, Marist is only a short ride away. Located on Fifth Ave (82nd to 105th), Museum Mile is the home of some of the most beautiful art work in the world. There are numerous museums such as the GuggenheimMoMA (Museum of Modern Art), the Neue Galerie, and many others. A couple weeks ago, I was lucky enough to go to one of my favorite museums, the Met.

Marist Steel Plant Studios holds trips to museums and galleries for their students to further deepen their understanding about past and contemporary art. A few weeks ago I went on one of the trips with my drawing class. After a short ride to the city, I was able to sketch in the museum for the rest of the day and hang out with my friends. The Met currently has art exhibits for Asian, African, Greek and Roman, Medieval, Modern/Contemporary, Musical, Photography, and many more. Next time you’re in the city, check out one of these unique museums for an amazing experience and a relaxing trip.
