As a Red Fox, the opportunities are endless! There are so many helpful career service tools that Marist has to offer, including help finding an internship and job searches, resume and interview help, and much more. Marist’s Career Services held a Career Consultation Day on and a Mock Interview Day last month.
Career Consultation Day consisted of over 20 different employers and Marist alumni, assisting students with questions regarding career opportunities for after college. Some of these recruiters were from companies such as CBS Radio, JP Morgan, IBM. Students were able to schedule resume reviews individually with recruiters and alumni from a countless number of top companies. Following the event, a Networking Reception was held across from the Career Services suite.
Mock Interview Day was an event in which students were able to sit down with a real employer for a ‘pretend interview’ in order to get experience and feedback. This was a great opportunity for upperclassmen to prepare for a real interview, without the pressure of possibly being rejected.
“The representatives at the mock interview event were really friendly and outgoing. They made me feel very comfortable to talk to them and gave me great advice on my resume. I now feel so much more confident after the experience.” -Alexandra Chipolone, Senior
Even though these events are attended by mostly upperclassmen, underclassmen are still welcomed – it’s never too early (or too late) to sharpen your skills!
