Red Foxes tuning in to last week’s Jeopardy were delightfully surprised when Marist received a shoutout during the iconic game show.
The $200 question asked:
In the 1960’s Marist College in Poughkeepsie began admitting them, just as nearby Vassar stopped admitting only them.”
As answered by the second contestant, the correct answer is, “What are women?”
Marist was originally an all-boys college, while Vassar was an all-girls college. Both schools became gender inclusive in the 1960’s.
Of course, alums went wild on Facebook.
This isn’t Marist’s first game show experience, either. Caroline Fiske (’20) represented our red foxes on Wheel of Fortune back in April 2019. Repping a Marist sweatshirt, Caroline walked away with $10,400 and a trip to the Bahamas.

Something about Marist is simply game-show worthy.
