Jasmine Rand, Esq. is coming to Marist on March 11th to speak on “Civil Rights, Social Justice, and Media: Becoming a Positive Force for Change.”
Rand was the attorney for the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Tamir Rice. She made many appearances in the media concerning the prominent cases, fighting on behalf of a generation seeking social justice. She received the national Distinguished Civil Rights Advocate Award for “fulfilling the legal profession’s highest ideal in advancing equal justice for all.”
Specializing in civil and human rights, Rand was recognized by the National Bar Association as one of the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 in the United States. She is an international legal analyst, consutant, lecturer, and columnist. She founded her own firm, RAND LAW L.L.C., based in Miami, Florida, and is part teaching faculty in the Trial Advocacy Workshop for Harvard Law School. She has appeared on networks such as Fox, CNN, MSNBC for her work on police brutality cases across the nation.
She will be speaking in the Nelly Golletti Theatre in the Murray Student Center at 7pm on March 11th, 2020.
